Danú Cat Photographic Expeditions, named after our beloved family cat, “Danú”, who sadly passed away in 2025, is born from a lifelong love of nature, travel, conservation, & photography. It is a project run by Michael O’Sullivan & Alison Miles of OSM Photography, offering photographers the opportunity to come and travel with us to some of the most amazing places, to see & photograph the most amazing sights, and to hopefully make a contribution to conservation along the way!
Alison & Michael who lead the trips as photographic guides, are widely known and respected professional photographers, and will be on hand to give any coaching and photographic tips necessary to help you get amazing images. All of our Safari Suppliers are Kenya based & owned. It is important to us that we support the local economy & local conservation efforts rather than international interests.
As professional photographers, it is important that we get the best viewpoints possible, try to plan the best timing where possible, and spend the time required to get the best images. As your photographic guides, we will help get you there with us. It is just as important that we do this without impacting the wildlife. See below what we are planning next!
Come with us to Visit Kenya’s renowned Masai Mara region to capture the incredible variety of wildlife, including the famous “big 5”, then head to Amboseli to capture the world’s most famous elephant herds against the amazing backdrops of Mt Kilimanjaro & Lake Amboseli, among other stunning wildlife photographic opportunities in a truly unique environment.
Enjoy an exclusive afternoon location portrait workshop (including lighting) at an authentic Maasai village. The included fee for this goes directly to the Maasai community. We will also go in search of Amboseli’s famous and rare Super Tuskers!

Experience the unique dramatic Wilderness that is Samburu National Reserve, along with its unique varieties of wildlife, including the rare “Samburu 5” – 5 species that you will not find elsewhere in Kenya. Visit an authentic Samburu Village, experience their culture first hand, and then enjoy the included afternoon location portrait workshop (including lighting), the included fee for this goes directly to the Samburu Community.
Then we go to Lake Nakuru in search of Black & White Rhino, a vast array of bird species, as well as Lake Nakuru’s famous Tree Climbing Lions!

Due to relentless poaching and trophy hunting, Africa’s Super Tuskers are now extremely rare. Kenya is one of the countries which has made the most efforts to protect these magnificent beings, but they are still very rare, with as few as 30 in the world, according to Tsavo Trust, including approx 10 in the Amboseli area, and 12 in the Tsavo area. We’ve been to Amboseli & Tsavo 3 times each, and it is always an amazing experience to be in the presence of one of these intelligent, sentient giants.
Come with us as we search for and photograph these very special elephants, in some of the most spectacular settings on the planet.
